Welcome to Hoot Owl Hollow Nursery!
The Perennial Gardens at Hoot Owl Hollow have been in existence for over 35 years,
gradually evolving from very practical vegatable gardens, to less filling,
but more soul satisfying ornamental beds. Over the past fifteen or so years they have
been greatly expanded to the point where, despite having 108 acres available,
we are running out of space on the ten or so acres that we intensively garden.
The rest of the land is primarily in woods, lovely to walk through any time of the year,
but especially in the spring to see the wild flowers.
Hoot Owl Hollow is primarily a collage of year round pleasure gardens, plant collections,
a dotage in retirement, a scandal to people who find nature untidy,
as well as a small business and our home. We offer the perfect combination
of the best of the tried and true and the best of the recent introductions.
The collections have multiplied over the years to include enough to propagate
for the discriminating collector and enthusiastic gardener.
"Us", or rather we, are Hank and Jane. This is a true Mom and Pop operation, where we
plant/maintain/process orders/etc., just the two of us. Not much use in trying to
get us on the phone because we spend our days in the garden unless it's just too
cold, coming in mostly to sleep or cook something to eat (or do some pesky paperwork).
